MUSEE DES HORREURS (Gallery of Horrors) 1899/1900 by V. Lenepveu, Paris (Leon Hayard) - 50 lithographic posters from a series of 51, missing only #51, 50½x65.0cm, unframed. A series of very provocative color lithographs is an example of the poisonous reaction to the Dreyfus Affair. The publisher L. Hayard distributed a large amount of anti-Dreyfus material incl. posters & pamphlets. Images show Dreyfus, E. Zola, Rothschilds, Zadoc-Kahn, G. Labori,
G. Picqart, Clemeceau, etc. showing figures in the pro-Dreyfus camp as disgusting half-animal creatures and showing members of the anti-Dreyfus camp as patriots and heroes. The publication was stopped by the police after issue #51; condition is fine - very fine (x50) light marginal faults as expected, lithos not stained or torn, a historic & interesting set
