Besieged Jerusalem Old City - 7 MR 48 Courier cv from the Old City sent by Miriam Neustadt, the Commander of the Hagana Women in the Jewish Quarter, carried to West Jerusalem by 1 of the Convoys escorted by the British, handed over to the Jewish Agency and mailed in Tel Aviv on 7 MR 48 - part of a family corresp.; vf & Very Rare, the Old City was in Siege as of Dec. 1947, see JSPS p. 203 for a sister cv from the same corresp.

22 AP 48 JERUSALEM PARCEL POST s.c. pmk on Palestine Parcel Card P.T. 204 addr to Cyprus through the A.I.G./CID Jerusalem. The parcel originated in New York arrived in Jerusalem, the original USA parcel card was returned to the sender, a duplicate issued as per manuscpt on top to go with the parcel to the CID - Jerus & then by a British Military convoy from Jerusalem to the addressee in Cyprus; vf, an unusual & interesting item

The document proves that at least until this date some Mandate Postal activity took place - the letter was written 9 days after the Siege began & 3 days after the last recorded use of the Mandate pmk; folded, fine, item illust. in JSPS p. 38, Historic doc.
